The Ferry Boat House
The Ferry Boathouse is situated on the River Gannel below the cafe
Access is via the privately owned steps which are open to the public.
Between 9.30am and 6pm during the open season (end may – mid september) or from Crantock Beach across the River Gannel.
During the season, the Boathouse provides access between Crantock Beach and East Pentire headland, Newquay.
When the tide is in (approx 3hrs either side of high water) the ferry boat ‘Sunshine‘ will take you across the river (about 200 yards) to the beach for a small charge (see charges below).
At low tide (app. 3hrs either side of low water) a foot bridge will allow you to walk across the river free of charge.
Ok so I only live across the gannel but if you are on holiday and go to crantock beach it is well worth the trip across to the FERN PIT CAFE and the lovely boathouse at the base of the cliff, either by ferry at high tide
